Our staff have a 20 year average length in continuous employment with the firm and we are looking to grow our team with the addition of a full time, skilled and reliable Paralegal. Professionalism and teamwork are prized, so the best candidate works well with attorneys, co-workers and clients.
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team to handle litigation and transactional related responsibilities, including:
Probate Litigation – Preparation and Filing of:
- General probate conservatorship petitions;
- Subsequent filings; supplements to address probate notes, and related matters;
- Motions, ex parte applications, TRO, all pleadings;
- Court formatted accountings for estates and trusts;
- Confirmation of Sale, publication, etc.;
- Complaints, answers, replies, petitions and motions in civil/probate litigation matters;
- Propounding discovery and responses to discovery, and coordinate documents in response to discovery requests; and
- Trial preparation.
Title Transfers – Preparation and recording of:
- Deeds;
- Affidavit of Change of Trustee;
- Preliminary Change of Ownership Report; and Documentary Transfer Tax forms;
- Transfer of LLC ownership interest
Additional Responsibilities:
- Power of Attorney forms
- Preparing and recording of abstract of judgment and renewals
- Calendar management for up to two attorneys, including firm’s Senior Partner
Qualifications for this position include the following:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of solid litigation experience
- Willingness to learn above tasks if no direct prior experience
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software programs.
- Highly proactive handling a high work volume
- Attention to detail, dependable and stellar organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage many tasks, prioritize deadlines effectively, and problem solve.
- Superb proofreading skills and clear, concise communication skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and ethical obligations in handling sensitive client information.
